MANDAGO ASKS CJ TO BE KEEN ON LAND CASES AS REGION DEPENDS ON FARMING
Governor Jackson Mandago EGH, has asked the Judiciary to consider increasing judicial staff to courts to assist fast track land inheritance matters that are largely the bigger portion of cases in the region.
Mandago spoke on Monday when he hosted Chief Justice, Martha Koome, in his office, where he said land succession cases were slowing down region’s economic growth that is largely pegged on agriculture. He said lands that are not transferred to dependants may slow down agricultural activities.
While responding to the Governor’s request for replacement of judicial staff who were transferred from Eldoret, Lady Chief Justice Martha Koome, said the Judiciary is working to ensure every sub county hosts atleast a court to help reduce the backlog of cases and ultimately serve justice to Kenyans.
She thanked the county government of Uasin Gishu for the continued partnership.
