Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has  rallied for increased allocation of resources to Counties.

Mandago said the economic development of local mwanachi is through strengthening of devolution asking for increased budget to 35% from the current 15%.

“We will ensure that devolved units get 35% of our budget up from 15%. This does not need change of constitution, it only need parliamentary goodwill at the National Assembly and Senate. Empowered devolution promote money circulation hence more money into the pockets of Kenyans,” he said.

The governor said the bottom up economic model is a sure deal to lift low income earners to have more money in their pockets since devolved units will be enhanced to spur circulation of money.

“The bottom up economic model is a sure deal to uplift low income earners to have more money which in turn they will pay more taxes and increase the revenue base of our country,” he added
