MANDAGO’S QUEST FOR CITY STATUS UNSTOPPABLE AS GREEN SPACES ARE ESTABLISHED

 

Chief officer for Physical Planning and Urban Development Mr Kenneth Mbeka joined project supervision team at the newly established state of the art modern arboretum that will serve as a recreational and research centre for Uasin Gishu residents.

Mr. Mbeka reiterated that the vision of H. E Governor Jackson K Mandago EGH, was that the Municipality of Eldoret is well prepared and gearing itself to be the fifth city in the Country.

Part of the conditions to be given the city status is the establishment of an Arboretum and green spaces is key factors.

The project is currently at its completion stages as the watch tower has already been roofed, gazebos built, paved walk ways completed, main gate at final stages and cabro layed vehicle parking area are at its final stages.

The County has established several green spaces, where the Arboretum is the game changer as it will provide an avenue for residents, students and visitors to take nature walks, prayers and recreation activities in it.The watch tower will provide a viewing experience of Eldoret town and its surroundings.

The Nandi Park beautification project is already serving the residents who take time to rest while the 64 Street beautification project has also been completed.
