MEDIHEAL TO OFFER SPECIALIZED MEDICAL SERVICES IN KAKAMEGA
Mediheal Group of Hospitals will start offering all specialized medical services at their Kakamega branch.
This was revealed by the hospital management when they paid a courtesy call on Deputy Governor H.E Prof Philip Kutima in his office.
H.E Prof Kutima lauded the hospital for opening their branch in Kakamega town saying it will reduce the cost of patients travelling to Eldoret and other parts of the Country for specialized medical services.
“Our people have been travelling to far places to get specialized medical services but with Mediheal Hospital in the town it will reduce the expenses,” said Prof Kutima.
He used the opportunity to highlight some of the projects the County Government has done to improve healthcare services.
He said the County is constructing a multi-billion referral hospital to offer high-end medical services.
“We have also started an eye hospital with the support from India,” he said.
He said the presence of Mediheal Hospital will also boost the economy of the County.
Dr Jimit Pathak, Mediheal Vice President for Administration and Strategy said all specialized medical services will be offered in Kakamega.
“We will have consultants in different fields like dental, orthopedic, gynecology and general surgery to offer these to people in Kakamega,” said Dr Pathak.
He said Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret receives overwhelming number of patients from Kakamega which informed the decision to start the branch in Kakamega.
“By offering these services in Kakamega, it will reduce cases of people travelling to Eldoret,” he said.
Madam Dorcus Saina, Business Development Manager at Mediheal Hospital said the hospital will hold a medical camp in the County to offer free medical services.
