Members Services and Facilities Committee Expresses Contentment over the Phases Occupation of New Bunge
National Assembly’s Select Committee on Members Services and Facilities has today lauded the ongoing preparations towards the launch of the new Bunge Towers building that will host offices of Members of Parliament.
In a sitting to consider Committee Business under the leadership of the Chairperson Hon. Dr. Wachira Karani (Laikipia West), the Committee expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula.
On Tuesday this week, Speaker Wetang’ula through a Communication to the House guided that Members will start occupying the new office block this week, even as preparations next week’s launch by President (Dr.) William Ruto continue.
“The official launch is set for next week Friday. I have visited the offices myself and I can confirm they are State of the Art offices and I am sure MPs will like them”, Committee Chairperson Hon. Dr. Karani noted.
Hon. Karani also informed Committee Members of his scheduled meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly Rt. Hon. (Dr) Moses Wetang’ula and the Clerk, Mr. Samuel Njoroge to engage over the phased occupation of the offices by Members. He called for Members’ patience as the process is being handled by relevant offices.
Committee Members Hon. Paul Abwor (Rongo) and Hon. Beatrice Elachi (Dagoreti North) sought for the Committee’s involvement in the process.
