Ministry of Mining Empowers Kenyans With Knowledge
Previously most communities, and indeed Kenyans at large were not privy to the benefits they ought to get from mining investments. Most investors used to take advantage of this to amass wealth at the expense of the community.
Cognizant of this fact, the Ministry of Mining under the wise and able leadership of CS Salim Mvurya assisted by Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi has stood firm, with the resolve that all benefits that belong to the community must be remitted, from the inception of the mining activities.
“On Wednesday, the Cabinet Secretary accompanied by PS Elijah Mwangi handed over a cheque worth 20 Million to the community of Kishushe. This money is meant for development projects and programs for the community of Kishushe in Taita Taveta County.
The fund that will be managed by the CDAC, was accrued from the mining ore investment in the area.
He noted,”This is the trend that we have taken as a ministry, to work for the benefit of Mwananchi.
Governor Andrew Mwadime – Wakujaa, Member of Parliament for Wundanyi Dan Mwashako, area MCA among other county leaders were also present.
