Moiben MP Silas Tiren to Seek Reelection on an Independent Party Ticket
By Sheila Bett
Moiben member of parliament,Silas Tiren will be seeking a re-election using an independent party ticket.
Tiren was elected under the Jubilee party ticket in 2017.
Speaking to the press in his Constituency, Tiren said, this is after he seeked advice from electorates.
“I have decided to defend my seat using an independent party ticket. I don’t want to experience what happened in the past where I was denied party certificate until last minute both in 2013 and 2017.”
“The laws of political parties have been changed where if you join a particular party you are not allowed to leave, unlike in the past where you would leave a party and be free to join another.”
Tiren assured the people of Moiben that he will still vie and is ready to take back his position.
“ I will come with my agenda and work done and you voters will decide for yourselves of I qualify to continue working for you or not .”
Tiren who was elected on a jubilee party ticket is serving his second term as Moiben Member of parliament.
He has also been a big supporter of the Baringo senator Gideon Moi’s presidential bid and has been seen as an anti-Ruto member of parliament together, with senator Margaret Kamar, Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut among others.
It is only time that will tell if he will be re-elected or not since he has faced resistance from the residents due to the party that he will be using.
