In a heartfelt statement, Kesses Member of Parliament Julius Rutto has expressed his deep sorrow over the devastating fire that ravaged the Moi University (Stage) Market late last night.

The tragic incident resulted in the destruction of numerous businesses, leaving many residents grappling with significant losses.

“Words cannot fully capture the depth of my sadness upon learning of the fire at Moi University Market,” MP Rutto said. “I know firsthand how challenging it is to build a business from the ground up, only to see it destroyed in an instant. My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by this disaster.”

The fire, which broke out around midnight, swiftly engulfed several market stalls and shops, causing extensive damage and displacing many small-scale entrepreneurs. Emergency services were quick to respond, but the blaze had already wreaked havoc by the time it was brought under control.

MP Rutto has extended his thoughts and prayers to the business owners and vendors affected by the fire. “I extend my deepest sympathies to the business owners and their families during this incredibly difficult time,” he stated. “May you find the strength and resilience needed to overcome this setback. I am confident that, with determination and support, you will rebuild and emerge from this challenge stronger than ever.”

The MP also called on local authorities and community members to come together to support those impacted by the fire. “In times of crisis, it is crucial that we stand united. I urge everyone to contribute in whatever way they can to help our neighbors and friends affected by this tragedy,” Rutto said.

As the community begins to assess the damage and recover from the incident, MP Rutto has promised to work with relevant stakeholders to provide support and explore avenues for assistance to those in need.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. In the meantime, the people of Kesses are rallying to support their fellow residents during this challenging period.
