In a statement that resonates deeply with many across Africa, Kiharu Member of Parliament, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Donald J. Trump following his historic election victory, marking his return to the White House as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States.

Speaking from Nairobi, Hon. Nyoro praised Trump for his leadership and his past policies that he believes have greatly benefited Africa and the broader Global South. The MP noted that Republican economic policies, particularly during Trump’s first term, were advantageous for many developing nations, citing trade agreements and investment initiatives that spurred growth across the African continent.

“Republican policies have always been better for Africa,” Nyoro stated. “President Trump’s leadership has consistently focused on ensuring that nations in the Global South, including Africa, were not left behind in the pursuit of global prosperity. His commitment to fair trade, empowering local businesses, and reducing overbearing foreign aid has been transformative for many economies across Africa.”

Nyoro’s statement also highlighted the global economic concerns under the outgoing administration. He emphasized that the continuous interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve, which reached 11 consecutive increases, had impacted global markets, affecting other nations’ economies, particularly those in the Global South.

“While the U.S. economy has benefited from higher rates, the ripple effects have hurt emerging economies,” he said. “The USA must be more responsible with its monetary policies. As the world’s reserve currency, the actions of the U.S. can either uplift or destabilize the global economy. We urge the new administration to practice caution and ensure that the policies set in Washington do not unduly harm the economies of the Global South.”

With Trump’s re-election, Nyoro expressed optimism about a future of global economic stability. He believes that the imminent monetary easing under Trump’s leadership will offer much-needed relief to global markets, particularly for African nations struggling with the aftershocks of higher interest rates and inflationary pressures.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we look forward to better economic prospects, both for the United States and for Africa. The world will thrive when the U.S. adopts policies that promote global growth without undermining the economic stability of other nations,” Nyoro added.

He closed his statement with a note of confidence in Trump’s ability to navigate these challenges, wishing the newly elected president success in his second term and affirming Africa’s commitment to strong diplomatic and economic ties with the United States.

“Congratulations to the United States of America,” Nyoro concluded. “We, in Africa, stand ready to work alongside your leadership for a prosperous and mutually beneficial future. Africa is our business, and we believe the road ahead looks brighter with Donald Trump at the helm.”

The congratulatory message is a reminder of the continued importance of U.S.-Africa relations, with many looking forward to the potential opportunities that Trump’s second term might bring.
