MTRH Conducts Its First Shoulder Replacement surgery
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital conducted its first ever reverse shoulder replacement surgery.
This was conducted by thr MTRH Department of Orthopaedics & Trauma .
It was conducted on patient E.J, a 65 years old lady who had severe osteoarthritis left shoulder.
The 5-hour marathon surgery was the first in any Public Hospital within the East & Central African region.
The surgical team included Dr. H.Vadgama, Dr. P. Okutoyi, D. Otieno, D. Kemboi, K. Mwiti and M. Ngige.
The patient is doing well post-operatively and to be discharged today on her 2nd post-operative day.
