MTRH RECEIVES POST ARBOTAL CARE EQUIPMENT FROM IPAS
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) today, 21st February 2022 received post abortion equipment from IPAS Africa Alliance Company.
They included; One (1) – Gynecological Procedure Couch, One (1) – Electric Vacuum Aspirator, One (1) – Portable Electric lamp, One (1) – Dilatation and Evacuation Set, Five (5) – Manual Vaccum Aspiration Kits.
The equipment will scale up the Hospital’s reproductive health care, which include providing top notch services to patients who require post arbotal care.
Speaking shortly after receiving the equipment, the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa, MBS, EBS hailed the collaboration between MTRH and IPAS as mutually-beneficial and was looking forward to the extension and expansion of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to make MTRH a Regional Centre of Excellence in training, provision of post abortal services and contraception.
MTRH and IPAS have been collaborating for over 18 years in an effort to reduce maternal mortality from unsafe and incomplete miscarriages.
Over the years, the collaboration has seen over 250 health care providers trained on quality post abortal care and value clarification. The engagement has also led to renovation of the Gynecological Ward.
IPAS Africa Alliance Director, Dr. Angela Akol, noted that IPAS values its partnership with MTRH, acknowledging that MTRH is a Centre of Excellence in Quality Healthcare provision.
Other IPAS leadership present were: Dr. Ernest Nyamato -Associate Director, Quality of Care; Justus Yofani- Finance and Operation Manager; Edward Ngonga, Quality of Care Manager; Susanne Majani, Policy & Advocacy Manager and Eddie Emmu- Quality of Care Advisor.
