Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) has been ranked No. 17 nationwide in 2019/20 Financial Year independent Performance – based on Evaluation by the Public Service Performance Management & Monitoring Unit – effectively making MTRH top performing State Corporations in the Ministry of Health.
Nationally, MTRH is one of the few State Corporations that has institutionalized a proper Performance Based Management System that is cascaded all the way down to the individual staff.
The Performance Management System looks at the whole Institution with a Balanced Score lens as follows; the Triple Bottom line Sustainability Framework(People/ Staff, Environment,Finances); Service Delivery Innovations now called Business Process Re-engineering from this new 2021/22 FY.
As part of proactive leadership MTRH has already concluded defence for the last FY (2020/2021). The Directorates/Departmental performance contracts for 2021/22 FY have been negotiated and signed off on Friday, 9th July, 2021 for implementation.
Other areas under Performance Contracting include; Core Business/Mandates of the Institution, Projects Development, Implementation and Delivery, National Crosscutting Priorities such as Corruption Prevention/Zero Tolerance to Corruption & Corrupt Practices.
Transformational HR Practices,Staff Training & Development (Continual Learning), AIDS Control Unit, Disability Mainstreaming, Road Safety, Alcohol & Drug Abuse Management amongst Staff; Client & Staff Satisfaction, Patient Safety, Quality Management System/ Quality Assurance, Disposal of Idle/Obsolete items, Energy & Environmental Management,Research, Development & Innovation, amongst other key parameters are also key pillars of Performance Contracting.
