Muslim Cleric Donates Foodstuffs to Over 130 Less Fortunate Families
North Rift Council of Imams and Muslim Preachers of Kenya chairman Sheikh Abubakar Bini through Hudda Foundation has donated foodstuffs to over 130 families of the less fortunate during the holy month of Ramadhan,
Those who benefited include the poor, orphans, and widows among others.
Speaking after donating the foodstuff Bini said this will caution them from the harsh economic times which is being witnessed in the Country.
“Today we have donated foodstuffs to over 130 widows, orphans, and the less fortunate in the society. We used to feed over 6000 families from Uasin Gishu and neighboring community but due to harsh economic times were were forced to reduce it to only 130 families,” said Bini while speaking to the press.
The North Rift Council of Imams and Muslim Preachers of Kenya chairman Sheikh Abubakar Bini called on well-wishers to help the less fortunate during the Holy month of Ramadan.
“We are now open for all those who want to donate something to the less fortunate during this month of Ramadan, any little food, rice, cooking oil, will be accepted and will give a family something to smile about. most families were affected by the effects of coronavirus which rendered most of them jobless and are not able to afford even a single meal per day,” said Bini.
He called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to set aside a budget to help the less fortunate in society during this holy month of Ramadan.
“We are also calling on our abled president Uhuru Kenyatta to set a budget for the same which will help the poor who cannot even afford a single meal a day since it is hard for a Muslim to fast without food,” he urged.
“As a foundation, we saw how our fellow Muslims are suffering that is why we decided to identify 135 families which deserve the donations. We will reach more people once we have more resources since it’s good to help the less fortunate,” Bini said.
Bini applauded the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) for banning Swahili, English and vernacular phrases that amount to hate speech.
“We are happy with what the NCIC has done and we urge politicians not to se the said words since they might bring enmity between tribes and we also urge then toad the word ‘Alshabab’’ he added.
Ali Albeit called on politicians to be ambassadors of peace and should not divide them basing ion their political and tribal affiliations.
“Since we don’t have any spare country, let us campaign peacefully and avoid using incitive words that might trigger the reoccurrence of the 2007 post-election violence,” he said
Shamila Wamboi one of the beneficiaries thanked the foundation for helping them during these hard economic times.
“We are happy with the donations since most of us could not even afford a single meal per day, May God bless you,” she said.
