Nakuru County Hosts 30th World Teachers’ Day Celebrations

Nakuru County celebrated the 30th World Teachers’ Day at the Kunste Hotel Grounds, organized by the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT). The event, themed “Valuing Teachers’ Voices,” was graced by Cabinet Secretary for Education Julius Migos.

In his address, CS Migos highlighted the essential role teachers play in fostering a sustainable society through quality and equitable education. He underscored that teachers are pivotal in shaping the future of the nation, emphasizing the need to support and uplift their contributions.

Collins Oyoo, Secretary General of KNUT, echoed these sentiments, affirming the Union’s commitment to initiatives that enhance educational standards. He recognized the dedication of teachers in molding the country’s future and called for ongoing support for their efforts.

Nakuru County Executive Committee Member for Education, Hon. Zipporah Wambui, also praised teachers for their invaluable roles in creating safe and conducive learning environments. She noted that under the leadership of Governor Susan Kihika, the county has embraced an open-door policy, facilitating regular meetings with teachers’ representatives to address educational challenges and improve standards.

The event brought together TSC officials, KNUT representatives, members of the Ministry of Education, and a multitude of teachers, all united in celebrating the impact of educators on society. The gathering served as a poignant reminder of the importance of valuing and supporting teachers in their vital mission.
