Nakuru Governor Distributes She 27.5 Empowerment Equipment
Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui has distributed economic empowerment equipment worth Ksh27.5 million to the electorates.
According to him this will go to 1,740 Persons Living With Disabilities in Nakuru County.
They include car wash machines, water tanks, posho mills and sewing machines.
“As part of the PWDs empowerment, we will work to have a special category in procurement dedicated to them.We will also support and promote talent among the PWDs including music and other forms of art,” said the Nakuru governor.
He said in the next phase he will establish a fund for mothers who take care of the disabled especially those with children that need constant attention and are unable to get employment or run their business.
“We will also enroll them on NHIF to ensure they have consistent medical care,” he added.
The Nakuru governor was joined by Youth, Culture, Sports and Social Services CEC Mrs Sylvia Onyango, Chief Officer Dr. William Migwe and other County officials.
