Nandi County Girl Child Education Ambassador Laid to Rest
Nandi County Girl Child Education Ambassador Gogo Dr.Priscilah Tarkwen was finally laid to rest at her rural Katanin village, Ndalat Ward.
Speaking during her burial ceremony Nandi Governor Stephen described the deceased as hardworking and a person who advocated for girl child Education.
The deceased passed on after a long Ilness.
“On behalf of myself, my family and the people of Nandi County I want to send my message of condolences to the family and friends of three deceased, May God give you strength during this hard time of mourning,” said the Nandi County governor.
The late Gogo who is the oldest pupil in the world at the age of 98 years,rejuvenated dreams of several people.
“She was a Girl Child Education ambassador, a role through which she empowered the girl child to use education as a source of wealth creation.May Almighty God comfort the family at this difficult moment.RIP Gogo.,” governor Sang added.
Govenor Sang called on girl child to put education on the forefront and avoid early marriages .
“It is sad that some girls drop our of school to get married , I want to tell you today thta if you go to school you will get a better person who will marry you instead of marrying a bodaboda guy who will take you no where. Education is the other tool that makes us equal whether you a boy or a girl,” he added.
