Nawiri Fund Gives Birth to Tenders in Trans Nzoia, Locals To Benefit Twice,Governor Natembeya

Trans Nzoia Governor, George Natembeya has announced that successful applicants of the Nawiri fund will automatically be given tenders by the County government.

Speaking at a gathering known as “Governor’s Kikao” in Tulwet, Waitaluk Ward, the governor emphasized that the tenders would help the beneficiaries repay their loans.

“My government is committed to empowering our people,after groups succeed in getting the Nawiri fund upon application,the same groups will automatically get different tenders,this will actually improve livelihoods”said the Governor.

The County government has allocated sh.102 Million for the fund, which targets vulnerable members of society, and this amount will be used as capital for the tenders.

Governor Natembeya encouraged educated but unemployed youth not to solely focus on seeking white-collar jobs but to also take advantage of the fund by engaging in tender opportunities.

He urged both the youth and adults to form groups and apply for the funds together.

During the Kikao event, the Governor also visited various stands representing different departments of both the county and national governments.

The Governor expressed concerns about discriminatory practices in the issuance of identity cards and urged the relevant department to be fair and impartial when providing these essential documents.

The Governor was accompanied by his deputy, Phelomena Kapkory, and other government officials including CECs Sam Ojwang (education), Janerose Mutama (lands), Phanice Khatundi (agriculture), and Jackson Amboka (roads).

Public service management chief officer Philip Kapten,his governance counterpart Sammy Sichangi and Communications director Dr. Felix Sialo were also present.
