Neighbor in Action Organization Unveils I-Monitor Tool System
Neighbor In Action Organization has unveiled the I-Monitor Tool system which is meant to provide solutions for health challenges facing the community.
According to the programs officer Winnie Jelagat said the mobile application will be used by the community to report negative and positive feedback from the community.
“Through this system, the government will have an opportunity to respond to whatever issues and once an issue has no response we are able to pick the issue for advocacy where we will use the civil society and the community health structures to ensure we solve health challenges in the county objectively,” said Jelagat.
She spoke after meeting civil societies in Uasin Gishu to sensitize them to the I-Monitor Tool.
“Today we have been doing community sensitization on community system strengthening since currently in the devolved government all solutions emanate from the community, we have been given an opportunity to work with the civil society where we will use community structure to ensure that we play a key role in solving community-related problems,” she added.
She says depending on the challenges facing the community the tool will help them advocate for resources and service delivery.
“It’s a good tool that is going to give mwananchi an opportunity to advocate for whatever change and service they need. Within the health services we have challenges such as availability of commodities, services delivery, human resources which will be solved using the tool,” said the Neighbor In Action programs officer.
She said that they will be training health care officers in the county citing that this will ease service delivery in the health care sector.
Bernadine Kipruto Chairperson Uasin Gishu Civil societies organization said the I-monitor tool is an application that is going to enable the community to monitor activities or initiatives on the ground in the health dispensaries and centers.
“We had the opportunity of meeting over 20 civil society organizations from different work stations the idea was to go through training in partnership with Neighbor In Action to be sensitized on how the I-monitor tool works. We are working closely with the county government to ensure service delivery is effective,” she said
