NEMA Ready for World Wetlands Day
The National Environment Management Authority NemaKenya on Friday 12th January convened the 5th National Planning Committee meeting for World Wetlands Day 2024.
As part of the ‘Adopt a Wetland’ initiative, several partners have committed to adopt specific sections of LAKE NARASHA in Uasin Gishu County, the venue for the National event to be held on 2nd of February 2024.
The choice of this venue aligns with the Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration initiative. As a result, there are plans to enhance the environmental condition of the area-including planting additional trees to increase the tree cover, implementing fencing measures, and conducting community awareness living near the lake.
