Human rights activist Kipkorir Ngetich has issued a strong statement congratulating His Excellency the President on his recent nomination of Professor Kindiki as the new Deputy President. Ngetich described this decision as wise and historic, heralding a new era of hope for Kenya.

In his remarks, Ngetich emphasized Professor Kindiki’s reputation as a dedicated and disciplined constitutional expert, whose appointment is expected to foster national unity and effective governance. “The knowledge, experience, and skills that the new Deputy President brings will be pivotal in uniting our country during these challenging times,” he stated.

Ngetich also reflected on the challenges posed by the outgoing Deputy President, suggesting that his tenure had become a liability rather than an asset. He condemned the previous Deputy’s behavior, which he described as fostering tribalism and favoritism. “In a democratic state like Kenya, public office holders must demonstrate high levels of discipline and commitment,” he argued.

He urged Kenyans to remain peaceful and embrace the changes, warning against the dangers of incitement from political leaders. “It is crucial that we move beyond tribal divisions and focus on what unites us as a nation,” Ngetich stated.

Highlighting the legal and political nature of the impeachment process, Ngetich defended the President’s measured approach during this turbulent period. He called for unity among Kenyans and urged leaders, particularly from Mount Kenya, not to incite their communities against the President, emphasizing the clear separation of powers outlined in the Constitution.

Ngetich concluded by calling on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to monitor any potential incitement and to ensure that those attempting to undermine the new administration are held accountable. He expressed hope that the new Deputy President would prioritize a healing process to unite all Kenyans.

As the nation transitions into this new chapter, the emphasis on unity and cooperation remains crucial in fostering a cohesive and stable Kenya.
