In a move aimed at enhancing livestock health and productivity, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating tick-borne diseases by prioritizing regular cattle dipping. As part of Nguzo Number 1, which emphasizes safeguarding the county’s agricultural assets, the governor oversaw the recharging of two key cattle dips in Ziwa Ward: Lemoru and Kipsigak 2.

Speaking at the event, Governor Bii highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting that over 166 cattle dips have been revived across the county to bolster livestock health and improve farmers’ livelihoods. “Tick-borne diseases are a major cause of reduced productivity in our livestock sector, and regular dipping is an essential practice for ensuring the well-being of our animals,” he stated.

Governor Bii was accompanied by Hon. Ezekiel Kodi, the MCA for Ziwa Ward, who praised the administration for its proactive approach in addressing the challenges faced by farmers. The recharging of the dips took place early at the break of dawn, marking another milestone in the county’s efforts to modernize and sustain its agricultural systems.

The governor’s focus on agriculture and livestock health aligns with broader plans to support the county’s economic growth by ensuring that farming communities have the resources and infrastructure needed to thrive.
