In a significant step towards the timely completion of the Lower Nzoia Irrigation Project, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Land Commission (NLC), Kabale Tache Arero, hosted a delegation from the World Bank at NLC headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting focused on strategic planning to expedite the compensation process for Project Affected Persons (PAPs).

During the discussions, Arero emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “We are committed to working closely with the World Bank to ensure that the compensation process is completed before the end of November.” This commitment reflects the NLC’s dedication to transparency and accountability in all its operations.

The day prior, Arero and the World Bank team conducted a site visit in Siaya County, where they assessed the current status of the project and its impact on local communities. “This on-site assessment provided valuable insights that are crucial for addressing the needs of the affected individuals fairly and promptly,” Arero noted.

The successful completion of the project not only highlights the efficiency of the NLC but also aligns with the broader goals of sustainable development championed by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto. His support for the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda has been pivotal in driving this initiative forward.

The collaboration between the NLC and the World Bank exemplifies how partnerships can effectively promote progress and development in the region. Together, they aim to ensure that the compensation process is handled with integrity, ultimately fostering a brighter and more prosperous future for the communities involved.
