NLC Kenya Recognized at the 5th Africa Public Sector Conference in Botswana
The National Land Commission (NLC) Kenya has achieved significant recognition at the 5th Africa Public Sector Conference held in Gaborone, Botswana.
The Hon. Chief Executive Officer, CHRP Kabale Tache Arero, announced that the NLC was named one of Africa’s Top 50 Innovative Public Sector Agencies during the event, underscoring the commission’s commitment to excellence and innovation in land management.
The conference, themed “Promoting Innovation for Sustainable Development,” attracted a diverse array of participants, including civil servants, policymakers, and industry experts from across the continent. It served as a crucial platform for sharing innovative strategies aimed at enhancing sustainable progress in the public sector.
In addition to the NLC’s recognition, Arero was honored with the award for Best Female Public Sector CEO, a distinction that serves to inspire her team to continue striving for excellence in their initiatives.
The conference also celebrated Mr. Koske Felix, EGH, the Head of Public Service, for his exemplary transformational leadership. His efforts in fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency within government services were acknowledged, further highlighting the collaborative spirit needed to tackle the challenges of sustainable development.
Prominent figures from the Kenyan government, including Principal Secretaries G Mugambi EBS (Forestry), Dr. Betty Muganda Inyangala (Higher Education), and Amos Gathecha (Public Service), were in attendance. Their presence emphasized the importance of inter-sector collaboration in addressing the pressing issues of sustainable development.
The insights gained and relationships built during this conference are expected to enhance the NLC’s efforts in land management and contribute to the broader goals of sustainable development in Kenya and beyond.
Accompanying Arero were NLC Kenya’s Director of Finance and Corporate Planning, Benard Cherutich, and Director of Land Administration and Management, Dr. Sam Nthuni.
