OJAAMONG JOINS WESTERN LEADERS IN ROOTING FOR RAILA, AZIMIO CANDIDATES
Busia Governor, H.E Sospeter Ojaamong today joined Western leaders in rooting for the election of ODM party leader, Raila Odinga and aspirants who will contest in Azimio La Umoja Movement tickets in the 9th August, 2022 general elections.
Addresing a mammoth Azimio Rally at Bungoma Posta Grounds, H.E Ojaamong said the Rt Hononourable Raila’s victory as the 5th will be a boost to the Country’s economy.
” A vibrant economy with the former Prime Minister at the helm will help create jobs for millions of unemployed youths and revive the sugar industry which is facing a downward trend, ” he said.
Ojaamong witnessed the formal defection of Bungoma Governor, H.E Wycliffe Wangamati to Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), an affiliate party of Azimio La Umoja Movement.
H.E Wangamati and 15 MCAs who quit Ford-K were welcomed to the DAP-K by party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi and Deputy Leader, Ayub Savula.
H.E Ojaamong who is completing his second term as mandated by the Constitution pledged to help his brother Wangamati clinch his second term as Bungoma Governor.
Vihiga Governor, Wilber Ottichilo and Wangamati said Raila brought Devolution to the country and is a true defender of devolution, thus their reason to rally behind his election as the 5th.
The leaders said the departure of ANC Leader, Musalia Mudaadi and his Ford-K counterpart, Moses Wetangula to Deputy President, William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance has helped open unity gate in Western Region.
Hon Wamunyinyi said the one-and-half years of push and pull with Wetangula led to formation of DAP-K , vowing to field a strong candidate ” to take him home”, failure of which “Bungoma will not change.”
Defence CS, Eugene Wamalwa desribed DAP-K as the fastest growing party in Africa South of Sahara and North of Limpopo, dismissing critics who feel Wangamati has not done much and yet he was voted the best performing Governor in 2021.
