Stress, depression and peer pressure are among the reasons youths enter into drug abuse and alcohol drinking.

The more they consume, the more addicted they become.

Government Organisations,Non-Governmental Organisations,NACADA and the societies have been in the frontline in fighting for drug addiction amongst the youths .

Most of the drug dealers have been arrested but it’s sad that most of them are released since they are powerful people in the society.

Students who have reacted involved themselves in drug addiction have awful behaviors which propel them to involvement in crime.

The proposal by the Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, that every student to get tested so that to be able to know if the person has been involved in the use of drugs or not.

This is in a move to curb increased cases of fire on schools which had been the order of the day.

In my opinion when a student is found to have been involved in drug abuse the ministry of education should provide forums for guiding and counselling for such students.

The students should thereafter be send to rehabilitation centers where they should ensure that theie behaviours have changed and fully recovered.

On the other hand the government should build more rehabilitation centers across the country with the help of NGOs and NACADA since the current ones are a drop in the ocean

To end this menace the Ministry of Education together with other stakeholder should put up measures in schools to prevent students from using drugs this killing their future.

Benefits of testing students on drug abuse consumption will enhance discipline among students hence accelarating the academic performance, drop out cases and sexual intercourse will reduce and rehabilitation corrects bad behaviours thus moulding students into good and integrity adults of tomorrow.
