Over 1, 400 LED Street Lights Installed -Governor Mandago
Uasin Gishu County government has installed over 1, 400 LED Street Lights.
According to governor Jackson Mandago, this will help boost businesses through enhanced security.
He spoke after commissioning street lights at Kuinet centre
“Since my governmnet took over we have so far installed over 1, 400 LED Street Lights.My administration has surpassed the lighting connectivity both in rural and urban areas with over 1, 400 LED Street Lights. 6,404 LED street lights have been installed, besides, 30No High Mast floodlights, 32No (15m) floodlights and 256No solar lighting spread across the county having been installed,” said the Uasin Gishu County boss.
He said street lighting is a boost to businesses as it increases traders working hours, helps improve their income, uplifts the quality of life, and enhances security. It also promotes the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
“As envisioned in the 2018-2022 Uasin Gishu County Integrated Development Plan(CIDP), the developed unit aims to install at least 9,004 LED Street Lights by end of 2022,” he added.
