Over 300 Cheptiret residents, family, and friends of Enos Lagat, a middle-aged man who was abducted outside Uchumi along Langata Road demonstrated wanting the police to produce him either alive or dead.

Led by his grandmother Felistus Chelule said that despite Lagat being abducted over 7 days ago they have not heard anything about him.

“As his family, we are in pain not knowing where he is and under whose custody. What I want is for my son to be released since we depend on him for our upkeep. The government should help us find him,” said Chelule while speaking to the press after the demonstration.

Lagat was abducted outside Uchumi along Langata Road, CCTV footage reveals.

Elvis Tarus says family and friends have recorded statements but nothing has been done.

“We want the police to investigate where Enos was taken after being kidnapped and we want to know what happened and where he is,” he said.

They wondered why he was not taken to court within twenty-four hours if he was arrested by the police.

Christine Tarus says “ What has Enos done to deserve this?We need him today it’s like you have shot the whole village if he is not here he
we are not there,”

Human Rights Activist for the Center Against Torture, Kimutai Kirui said if it could be abduction they could have asked for money but for the seven days he has been missing nobody has asked for the same.

“There is A Subaru that abducted him where he was with his friends. People know that DCI is associated with Subaru vehicles and if they are the ones who took him should be released within the shortest terms possible since it’s against the law,” he said.

“In Nairobi CCTV is everywhere, DCI cannot tell us why the car has not been found with that highest surveillance. DCI Langata produce Enos and if you have killed him produce the body,” he added.
