Partnerships Towards the Growth of Youth-Led MSEs
Following a visit to Egerton University, where Micro Small Enterprises Authority Director General Henry Rithaa represented the Cabinet Secretary Cooperatives CS Chelugui as the Chief Guest at the official opening of the 5th National forum for Universities, TVETs and Agricultural stakeholders held at Egerton University Njoro, a delegation from the University did a follow up courtesy call to the DG on areas partnership and collaboration with the Authority.
Representatives from the University; Prof. Paul Kimurto (Director Marketing and Resource Mobilization) and Prof. Charles Merimba (Director International Linkage and Collaboration) expressed that there are opportunities of collaboration in skills and knowledge development.
“The University can host an Incubation hub for Youth and Women MSEs and act as an industry based development Centre” The DG expressed that this would be a great opportunity as the MSEs can have access to infrasture offered by the University.
MSEA can also support the student innovations at the University through interventions like market linkage to trade fairs and exhibitions.The DG was accompanied by Directors Caroline Kioko, Simon Nyamolo and Reynold Njue.
