Uasin Gishu farmers are reaping impressive benefits from passion fruit farming, a fast-growing agricultural enterprise that promises remarkable returns within just six months. Hillary Kiptarbei, a farmer in Turbo Sub County, is among the many success stories, demonstrating the transformative power of this venture on livelihoods.

Speaking about the success of passion fruit farming in the region, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii expressed optimism about its potential to enhance economic resilience for small-scale farmers. “Passion fruit farming is not only quick to mature but also offers substantial financial rewards, enabling our farmers to diversify their income streams,” Governor Bii stated.

The county government is keen on building upon these successes by encouraging farmers to adopt diversification in their farming practices. “Diversification is critical for sustainable agriculture. As a county, we remain committed to providing the necessary support, including facilitating market access and offering essential extension services,” Governor Bii added.

Kiptarbei’s farm has become a beacon of inspiration, showcasing how passion fruit farming can transform lives and strengthen local economies. His success has spurred interest from neighboring farmers who are eager to replicate the model.

Governor Bii called upon farmers across the county to seize this opportunity and assured them of the county government’s unwavering support in driving agricultural innovation and prosperity.
