People Using Miraa in Eldoret Increase Despite Its High Price
People using Miraa in Uasin Gishu County increased in number despite its high prices by suppliers from Meru County.
According to Joseph Murungi, a Miraa seller, everyone in Eldoret town knows about miraa and those who use it are increasing in number hence the increase in demand from suppliers.
“If you go for Miraa from the suppliers without making an order you won’t get any as Miraa sellers take them all,” said Murungi.
Murungi further said that even with the high prices of the Miraa the business is growing larger as they have to sell the Miraa at a lower price attracting more consumers because of the hard cost of living which is affecting most people.
“These miraa consumers here like the Muslims are many but they don’t have money to purchase due to its high price,” said Murungi.
Murungi has added that with the growing Miraa business, supply from Meru into the town happens every day without missing any day and non is left as all is taken.
“Miraa trucks come in twice a day every day here at 6am and 8pm,” said Murungi.
With Eldoret warming up to be a city, the Miraa business will surely grow more, and more suppliers will come into the town together with consumers growing the town more and making it eligible for other businesses according to Murungi.
