President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga on Saturday attended the Absa Kip Keino Classic.
The event took place at at Moi Sports Center Kasarani.
President Ruto said the beauty of the event is that it gives young and emerging talents a platform to showcase their abilities, test themselves, and shine.
“Congratulations to all the winners. The quality of competition we have witnessed is a fitting tribute to the name and legacy of Kipchoge Keino.
This is what we need in athletics; a culture of celebrating and lifting up our own,” he said.
“We gathered together as Kenyans to watch the Kip Keino Classic, lending our voices to cheer on our world renowned athletes,” said Raila Odinga.
