Police Launch Investigations Into Nambale Murder
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Busia County is investigating an incident where the body of a 48 year-old man was found dumped on the railway line at Lupida Village in Nambale Sub County.
Nambale Sub County DCIO Richard Lokwawi said Aggrey Juma was murdered elsewhere, and his body dumped on the railway line to make it appear like the deceased was run over by the train.
The DCIO told the media that he is following crucial clues that will help nub the killers. He, however, appealed to whoever has information regarding the murder to share with his office and assured that all the information will be taken in confidence.
Area residents woke up to the greasily sight at 6:00am on Monday morning where the deceased was reportedly hacked on the back using an axe and a blunt object on the head before being taken to the railway line where the Malaba-bound goods train crushed his foot about seven kilometers from the border.
Residents who spoke on condition of anonymity said the murder may have been planned and executed at a nearby illicit brew joint and accused police of turning a blind eye to several illicit brewers dotted around the area after collecting protection money from the brewers and sellers.
