President Ruto Lauches Power Station and issued enteprise licences to 6 companies
President William Ruto on Saturday launched a power station and issued enteprise licences to 6 companies/investors (local and foreign) injecting Kshs 24.4B into Naivasha Special Economic Zone, generating 2,486 jobs across diverse sectors including bottling, EV cars, logistics, power, energy, steel mill, plant essence extraction, and a regional car auction.
Under the President’s economic reforms, Kenya is now the top choice for investors, offering stability and growth:
– Our GDP is booming at 5.4%, ranking 29th globally – World Bank.
– Kenya is the 3rd position as a top global destination for FDI in 2024
– Kenya leads Africa in startup capital securing $800 million in 2023, highlighting our vibrant entrepreneurial landscape.
His excellency the President noted:
“We are on course in our quest to transforming Kenya into an attractive investment destination and a leader in green industrialisation. By equipping our Special Economic Zones with clean energy and essential infrastructure, we aim to attract foreign direct investments, drive industrial growth and enhance exports. This is how we Plan to grow our economy and create jobs for our people.
In Mai Mahiu, Nakuru County, commmisioned 90 MVA Naivasha Special Economic Zone Sub- Station that will power industries in the facility at reduced costs.
Also issued licences to six companies that will invest a total of KSh30 billion, creating more than 3,000 jobs.
Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, Cabinet Secretaries Davis Chirchir, Rebecca Miano and Zacharia Njeru, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, MPs and MCAs were present.”
