President William Ruto is on Saturday expected to grace the official ground breaking of Turbo Level four hospital.
According to the Chief officer of Clinical Services Dr Paul Wangwe Ongeti, this will help to reduce congestion at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital which is now overwhelmed.
“President William Ruto will be our chief guest during the official groundbreaking of the Turbo level four hospital, once completed the hospital will help in de-congesting MTRH which is now overwhelmed,” said the Clinical Services Chief Officer.
He noted that the County will focus on primary health care and only leave MTRH to deal with referrals.
“The event will start at exactly 9:00 am and we urge residents to come and witness this great milestone in our health sector. The facility will help to serve locals by providing urgent medical services. ,” he said.
He further noted that Ziwa and Kesses level four hospitals are almost complete and will officially be opened in the next financial year.
Ziwa, level 4, Kesses level four which will be launched in the next financial.
Dr. Chesereck Richard, Deputy Director of Administration for Health, said the facility will reduce the distance of residents traveling to MTRH for the same medical services.
“We welcome you all for the occasion and we expect that our president William Ruto will grace the groundbreaking occasion and we welcome you all for the same,” he said.
He further called upon residents to register for NHIF for them to get quality health services.
“We have gone to the community to register for NHIF, we have registered over 20,000 residents in the past three months. We want everyone to be registered to NHIF because it will cater to all their medical expenses,” Dr. Cheserek added.
