The biggest endeavour of the Ruto Administration is to empower the youth with a wide range of knowledge and skills to sharpen them for formal employment and be able to earn an income in self-employment.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programme being rolled out at the grassroots, in polytechnics and technical institutions in the Country, is giving millions of young people a new lease of life as they gain requisite skills to advance their lives.

The new Recognition of Prior Learning Policy launched recently is also aiding certification of self-acquired skills for easier access to lucrative job opportunities.

Today, I was happy to preside over the Graduation of over 4, 300 students at Nyeri National Polytechnic, Nyeri County.

Congratulations to the graduates who will make the cohort of skilled personnel leading implementation of the Government’s flagship projects, including the Affordable Housing Programme and other key national and county projects.

I was joined by Technical and Vocational Education and Training Principal Secretary Esther Muoria, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga, Nyeri Deputy Governor David Kinaniri, Nyeri Town MP Duncan Maina Mathenge, Nyeri County Woman MP Rahab Mukami, Tetu MP Geoffrey Wandeto, Members of County Assembly, Nyeri Polytechnic Chief Principal David Mwangi, Department heads among other leaders.
