President William Ruto Signs Key Bills to Drive Bottom-Up Economic Transformation
President William Ruto today signed seven crucial parliamentary bills aimed at accelerating Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and enhancing the country’s global competitiveness. The bills signed include:
– Kenya Revenue Authority (Amendment) Bill 2024
– Kenya Roads (Amendment) Bill 2024
– Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Amendment) Bill 2024
– Statutory Instruments (Amendment) Bill 2023
– Business Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024
– Tax Procedures (Amendment) Bill 2024
– Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill 2024
These reforms aim to streamline business operations, improve tax compliance, boost infrastructure, and strengthen transparency in governance. President Ruto emphasized that the bills would empower small businesses, create jobs, and ensure that the benefits of growth reach all Kenyans.
“The reforms will lay a solid foundation for a prosperous Kenya, ensuring that no one is left behind,” President Ruto said.
The ceremony was attended by key leaders, including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Treasury CS John Mbadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Attorney-General Dorcas Oduor, and Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah, who all supported the reforms aimed at enhancing the nation’s economic and governance frameworks.
