Prof. Bozzi Advocates for Systemic Change in Global Policy at TENP
On September 2, 2024, Professor Bozzi from the International University Network for Cultural and Biological Diversity (IUNCBD) visited the Technical University of the North Pacific (TENP) to discuss the pivotal role of academic institutions in shaping societal understanding of global policies. His visit, marked by engagement with various student leaders, emphasized a transformative approach to global issues through a systemic mindset.
Prof. Bozzi’s keynote address focused on the significant influence that colleges and universities hold in interpreting and disseminating policy information. He urged for a paradigm shift towards a system-based approach in addressing global challenges, stressing the need for educational institutions to lead in fostering this change.
During his visit, Prof. Bozzi interacted with leaders from TENP’s student clubs, including the Environment Club, SDG Club, Wildlife Club, Ajira Club, and Career Club, as well as Mr. Ngenoh, the TENP Greening Champion. The discussions highlighted the importance of student-led initiatives in driving environmental and sustainability efforts.
In a notable development, the TENP Environment Club is set to join the Africa Network of Environmental Associations (AfriNEA), further underscoring the institution’s commitment to regional environmental collaboration. Additionally, TENP’s affiliation with IUNCBD was reaffirmed, reinforcing its dedication to global cultural and biological diversity issues.
The visit was hosted by the Chair of the TENP Student Union (TENPSU), reflecting the institution’s robust engagement with international environmental and cultural networks. Prof. Bozzi’s insights are expected to inspire continued dialogue and action among TENP’s student body and beyond.
