Prof Wilson Kipkoech Ngetich Appointed Ag. University of Eldoret VC
Council University of Eldoret has appointed Prof Wilson Kipkoech Ngetich as Acting vice chancellor.
This is after the term of the outgoing VC Prof Teresa Akenga elapsed.
“We wish to inform all University staff and students that the term of the Vice Chancellor Prof Teresa ends today 8th June 2023 after serving the University as its vice chancellor for the last ten years since her appointment on 9th June 2013,” said the Chairman of the Council Dr Ismail Buro Hassan.
The Council appreciated Prof. Akenga for the exemplary work which saw the tremendous growth of the University of students enrolment, infrastructural development and human resource
.
“The growth has led to the recognition of the University both locally and internationally as premier institution of Higher learning,” he added.
“Prof Wilson Kipkoech Ngetich will now serve as acting vice chancellor and to perform the functions of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Eldoret with effect from 9th June, 2023 for six month or until a substantial vice chancellor is appointed,” he said.
Prof Ngetich is currently the vice chancellor (Administration and Finance)
“He is an associate professor of Soil Science at the University and brings a wealth of experience in management and general operations of the university having served previously on several occasions as acting Vice Chancellor,” the chairman Council noted.
“May I take this opportunity on behalf of the Council, University Management and Senate to Congratulate Prof Wilson Kipkoech Ngetich on his appointment and wish him success as he assumes office and executes his duties and responsibilities as acting Vice Chancellor,” he added.
