As a nation, we owe it to our children inclusive of children with disabilities the affection and attention they deserve to be ready to be the leaders of the present and the future.
Mentorship is a powerful tool in enabling this.
The Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Hon. Florence Bore today officiated the Inaugural Tunza Career Guidance and Mentorship programme for students with disabilities at the Rev Muhoro Secondary School for the Deaf , Nyeri County.
The initiative of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities is aimed at promoting self-confidence, academic excellence, and social integration. To Sensitize Learners with Disabilities on the purpose and aims of the programme, the roles of mentors and responsibilities of mentees and to conduct a rapid needs assessment of Learners with Disabilities and related mentorship and career guidance interests.
