Ps Public Health Hosts Global Fund Country Team
The principal Secretary for public health and professional standards Mary Muthoni Muriuki hosted the Global Fund Country Team.
They were led by Senior Fund Portfolio Manager Mr. Paul McCarrick for an introductory meeting.
“The Global Fund has been a key partner in the fight against HIV,TB and Malaria and strengthening health service delivery, infrastructure, and community systems, ” he said.
The country has made good progress in the implementation of the current grant; the stock levels for HIV, TB and Malaria commodities are enough to last over three months with distribution currently ongoing.
The Principal Recipients and programmes have also prepared acceleration plans for Global Fund Grants and joint meetings with County Health Management Teams are on progress to review and monitor the implementation status.
The Ministry will work closely with the National Treasury and relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient utilisation of funds for better outcomes.”
