Raila Odinga’s Supporters Hold demonstrations in Eldoret Town
Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s supporters in Uasin Gishu county Thursday held peaceful demonstration in Eldoret town.
They joined their leaders in peaceful demonstrations in support of Raila Odinga’s quest for Electoral justice and in decrying the high cost of living.
Led by the ODM North Rift Chairman Dr. Kipchumba Kiptogei and the ODM secretary general Uasin Gishu County Evans Odhiambo, the leaders expressed their support for the nationwide peaceful demonstrations that have been ongoing the various parts of the country,
“As we look forward there is no hope in the near future of the economy getting any better since the prices of commodities are going high day by day. People are suffering, Our people continue to lose their lives in parts of North Rift due to banditry attacks despite a security operation sanctioned by the president we demand Change”said Kiptongei.
“The youth continue to lanquish in poverty and joblessness despite many promises issued by the current government led by president William Ruto while youths and ordinary Kenyans have been pushed into dysphoria,” added Kaptongei.
The Leaders further appealed to religious leaders in the Country to emphasize on the need for electoral justice in order to have sustainable peace.
“My clarion call to the religious leaders is to emphasize on the need for electoral justice because that is the foundation of peace.” Said Biegon Rotich.
Uasin Gishu Odm Secretary general Evans Odhiambo has promised hundreds of residents will be mobilized to take part in the Monday Peaceful demonstrations to be held in Nairobi.
