Red Flag Over 600 Students who are yet to join school

Details are emerging of how approximately 590 students are yet to join Form one owing to lack of school fees.

The students hail from some of the most vulnerable settlements, chiefly being Lucky Summer and Korogocho in Ruaraka Constituency.

Take the case of a young chirp………(get me his name) who garnered an impressive 395 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, the last cohort.

His Father, George Otieno Onyango, is at a crossroads because he cannot afford to take his son to Maseno High School. He is jobless and he explains that his efforts to seek help have fallen on deaf ears.

Dr. Boaz Cheluget, a leader from Ruaraka, has challenged the Government to see to it that such needy and deserving cases are handled promptly.

And Mr. George Otieno is not the only one. Other parents explained how despite his son securing a slot at University of Nairobi, faculty of Electronic and Mechatronics Engineering, he is yet to join because his single mother is not in a position to cough out the sum total to secure his admission.

Dr. Boaz implored upon elected leaders to cease politicising allocation of bursary.

“The Constitution of Kenya (CoK) that was promulgated in 2010 is so very much elaborate in spelling out that every Kenyan is entitled to the basic education
