Review The Finance Bill – Savula Says

The Deputy Governor of Kakamega County Ayub Savula is advocating for review of the controversial Finance Bill before its adoption by Members of Parliament.

He say the current proposal will affect Kenyans who are already overburdened by taxes.

“We are calling on President William Ruto to review the financial Bill since if it is passed the way it is it will affect Kenyans badly,” Savula said.

Addressing congregants of Salvation Army Ebambwa Church in Lurambi Sub-County, during a funds drive in aid of development projects at the House of God, the Deputy Governor also reiterated Governor Fernandes Barasa’s commitment to ensure the six point agenda highlighted in his manifesto are realized for better livelihoods and improved county economy.

He reiterated the the County Government’s plan to double the County Bursary Kitty from the current Ksh 2 Million disbursement per Ward to Ksh 4 Million totalling to Ksh 240 Million for the entire County starting 2023/2024 Financial Year.

The DG who was accompanied by MCAs Hon. Moses Musundi and Hon. Dickson Luvega, CECM Peninah Mukabane among other Senior Officers disclosed that the County Government will construct a Motorcycle Assembly Plant in Lurambi Sub-County which will contribute heavily to the Wealth Creation and Social Development agenda for the residents.
