Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Assures volatile Elgeyo Marakawet residents of their security

Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Maalim Mohamed has assured volatile Elgeyo Marakawet residents of their security.

Speaking during a Kenya Kwanza thanksgiving meeting Mohamed said more security personnel has been deployed in the region.
“I want to assure people of Elgeyo Marakwet that we will deal with bandits in the region who have been terrorizing residents,” said the Rift Valley Regional Commissioner.
Counties which include Baringo, West Pokot, Samburu, and Elgeyo Marakwet have been affected by banditry.

He attributed the improved security in Kerio Valley which was described as the valley of death where many lives were lost.

” There is a time I was watching the news and women and children from Baringo North and South were running for their safety in their own home but now we can all agree that the cases of insecurity within the North region including Kerio Valley have been reduced since tough measure such as curfew were initiated in the area. we are going to exert more pressure to maintain peace in the areas,” said Mohamed.

“The recent attack in Turkana has raised a red flag to the county commission office and together with police officers we are going to set necessary measures to restore peace in the region,” said Maalim.
Maalim Mohamed has promised to work with all the elected leaders to ensure that cases of insecurity in the Elgeyo
Marakwet is a thing of the past.

“I take this chance to welcome the coming government Kenya Kwanza and president William Ruto as they take the country to the next level we will work together for a better tomorrow. As public servants we always work for the government of the day” he said.
