Rivatex East Africa Limited has conducted COVID-19 vaccination to its staff.
According to cooperate communication manager Sila Kosgey The exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Uasin Gishu County government Health department.
“We have conducted Covid 19 vaccination exercise for all our staff at the textile facility. This comprises of those receiving their first and their second doses working in different departments,” said Kosgey while speaking to the press.
He said that the move is aimed at targeting close to 800 employees working at our vertical integrated textile mill in the production of garments.
“The process has gone on smoothly. We are happy that all employees are heeding to call by the Ministry of Health to have everyone receive the vaccine.When you get the vaccine your chances of getting the virus will be minimal and as an organization we are not forcing anyone to go for the jab but it’s voluntarily.” Kosgey added.
The vaccination drive is being conducted by the Uasin Gishu County Department of health following a request by the facility owing to its population and the intense nature of the work conducted at the facility.
“We want to appreciate the County government for its quick response. We also want to urge all citizens to take up the vaccine because the numbers of Covid cases in the country continue to rise and this move should be our personal responsibility,”he said .
Cornelius Kemboi from the spinning department thanked Rivatex management for bringing the vaccination.
“I want to thank the management for ensuring that we are vaccinated since since it was hard for us for us to get due to our busy schedule but now I am happy that I have done gotten the jab, ” he said.
Timon Melly a journalist called on Kenyans to go for the vaccinations saying it has no side effects.
“I want to call upon Kenyans to go for the jab since it’s for your own good and prevent you from being infected by coronavirus,” he said.
