Ruku Pushes Poll Amendment Bill
Mbeere North member of parliament The Honorable Geoffrey Kariuki Kiringa Ruku has pushed the elections amendment bill 2023.
He says,”We have initiated the process of optimizing the way elections are carried out in Kenya by submitting to the Speaker of the National Assembly The Elections Act 2011 (Amendment) Bill 2023.
The bill seeks to facilitate automation of nomination of candidates, the continuous registration of voters, elections and referendums, efficient supervision of elections and referendums and the registration of citizens residing outside Kenya.
It also aims to streamline elections and referendums by saving money, increasing the speed and efficiency of electoral tasks, increasing the speed of obtaining election results, improving the accuracy of election results and improving public confidence in the electoral process.”
