Seventh Suspect Arrested in Connection with Murder of HR Manager Willis Ayieko
Police have arrested a seventh suspect in the ongoing investigation into the brutal murder of Willis Ayieko Onyango, the Human Resource Manager at Wells Fargo Company. Onyango was found dead in Mungowere Stream on October 23, 2024, after being allegedly murdered by a group of individuals.
Onyango Ongweso Samuel, 52, was apprehended late last night in the Doho region of Khisa West, Kakamega County, following a tip-off from the public. Officers stationed at the Dudi Police Post, alongside detectives from the DCI Siaya, successfully tracked down the suspect based on intelligence received from local sources.
The suspect, Samuel Onyango Ongweso, is believed to be part of a group responsible for the killing of Willis Ayieko. According to police reports, the victim’s body was discovered in the stream before being disposed of. The investigation is being led by the DCI Siaya and the Homicide Unit, with Ongweso currently in custody to assist with the ongoing inquiries.
Ayieko, who was laid to rest last Sunday, was buried at his home in On’iende village, Alegi/Usonga Sub County, amid emotional tributes from family, friends, and colleagues.
The police are continuing their investigation as they work to unravel the full details behind the tragic murder of the well-known HR manager.
