Kaptarakwa Sub- County Hospital in Keiyo South sub County has received medical equipment worth Sh15million.

County government Minister for Health Michael Kibiwott together with radiology staff from the Iten County Referral Hospital ICRH visited the facility on Tuesday to oversee the installation.

H.E. Governor Wisley Rotich is expected to officially launch the equipment in the next two weeks.

The equipment purchased through the Kenya Devolution Support Program KDSP include Exray and Ultrasound machines with a generator.

According to Michael Chemjor, the Hospital Medical Superintendent, the funding also facilitated the construction and equipping of the radiology unit alongside drilling and equipping of a borehole that serve the facility.

The radiology technical officials praised the development describing the machines as superb.

“These ones are the latest technology in use and it is thesame ones being used in major hospitals everywhere. It only requires a trained sonographer to man them,” said Mary Waigwa.

In attendance included Ward Development Committee chairperson Michael Kiplagat, Sub County and Ward administrators Meshach Bowen and Ian Koech respectively.
