Sh 500 to be A located for the Revival of Nzoia Sugar Company
The Agriculture committee in the National Assembly has hinted at pushing for the allocation of Ksh 500 Million towards the revival of the ailing Nzoia sugar company.
The committee led by the Vice Chairperson Yegon Brighton visited the sugar miller to engage the management and key stakeholders on possible solutions to challenges facing once Bungoma’s sugar giant.
Speaking at the function, Governor Lusaka called on the National government to reconsider it’s decision to sell Nzoia to a local sugar dealer terming the move as ill advised.
County Members of Parliament who attended the function echoed Lusaka’s sentiments asking for a structured engagement as far as privatisation is concerned.
MPs John Makali (Kanduyi) Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai) Jared Okello (Nyando) , Ferdinand Wanyonyi (Kwanza), Chairperson of Nzoia board Members Alfred Khang’ati and other leaders were present at the function.
