In a bid to boost agricultural productivity and ensure convenient access to high-quality farm inputs, the County Government of Siaya has forged a strategic partnership with the National Cereals & Produce Board (NCPB). This collaboration aims to streamline the distribution of fertilizer through the “Last Mile Fertilizer Distribution Program.”

Under this initiative, Siaya County has identified 19 potential depots across the region to complement existing ones in Bondo, Yala, and Ambira. These depots have undergone rigorous inspection and meet approved standards to guarantee the quality of the farm inputs.

County Agriculture Officers, having undergone specialized training, are prepared to manage these depots efficiently, ensuring seamless operations and optimal service delivery to farmers.

The inauguration of the Sega depot marks the commencement of this groundbreaking agreement, signaling a significant step forward in enhancing agricultural support systems within Siaya County. With a focus on accessibility and convenience, farmers can now access allocated fertilizer at locations closer to their farms, eliminating logistical challenges and delays.

This initiative underscores Siaya County’s commitment to empowering farmers and fostering agricultural growth by providing essential resources and infrastructure to support their endeavors. Through collaborative efforts between the government and stakeholders like the NCPB, Siaya County aims to catalyze agricultural development and improve livelihoods across the region.
